Collecting napkins

I have been collecting napkins from the more interesting bars and restaurants I have visited over the last couple years and find it to be a low cost hobby and a good way to remember places I have visited even if they are just down the street from me. I was unable to make a purchase at many of the more expensive establishments such as Prime Rib and Ristorante Panorama in Philadelphia but have used their bathrooms which had signature napkins at the sinks which I feel is a nice touch. Does anyone else on the forum collect napkins or similarly themed items?

When I was a kid and I visited family in other states/countries, I would collect the business cards of all the places we ate at.

Are we talking paper napkins like at a Pizza Hut or the cloth napkins at fine dining places?

I am speaking of paper napkins but examples with a more substantial hand than those found at many of the chain restaurants; although I my collection does contain both.

Why did you use the bathrooms at restaurants where you didn't make a purchase?

I actually do also. Napkins, business cards and menus are my preferred mementos, though I can't say I've ever visited an establishment and used their facilities, while I, with all the panache of James Bond, stole a napkin. For one thing, of what would the pilfered paper product remind one of? An exquisite toilette experience?

Seriously -- framed menus, napkins, and such adorn the walls in my dining room, professionally framed and matted of course. It's a very suitable decoration, given the point of the room, and are excellent reminders of wonderful meals. Great conversation pieces for guests, too.

In the bar, I have cards and napkins from all the good bars that I visit, along with some drinks menus. I have been refused menus occasionally, though I always couche my request as an offer to purchase, which I do if the price is reasonable.

This is a pretty sad thread. Bank, how many bottles of booze have you had today? Better be more than 1.
