Collar Question

SF seems very critical of collar points visible under a jacket. This seems reasonable, but as someone who won't go any wider than a most conservative semi-spread, what brands/styles should I look at for shirts? Please assume that the jacket fits well enough, and that this is a problem with the shirt. I don't like to pay more than $40 for a shirt (that said please think sale prices).
