i'm thinking about wearing a collar pin
especially with a collar that does not have any collar stays
just wondering if the collar pins are different in design from just a large safety pin...

does anyone just use a large safety pin on the collar?

hoping someone might be able to give me some input on this

worst case scenario... i spend like $2 buying a package of large safety pins and finding out that it doesn't work... perhaps ruining a shirt collar and/or pricking myself to death

best case scenario... i find that a regular safety pin works fine and save a few bucks

I think you could use a large safety pin if you wanted it all depends on how large it is. For my eyelet collars I buy barbells and ends from piercing shops.

that's an idea
how much do you pay for those?

i don't have any eyelets on my shirt collars...
i recently bought some shirts that are a bit more casual
they don't have any collar stays in them (no way to insert one either)
so i am trying to use a collar bar/pin and see how that works

Some clip on and some pin through.

The holes you punch in the shirt collar will close up, with most fabrics I am told. Very few men have collars with eyelets as this style demands the pin and restricts wear to the higher end of the formality scale.

I use the clips myself.
