    Hello,

So I have finally hit a dead end on fixing this problem. I have tried on multiple jackets/suits including the following:

    Brooks Brothers Fitzgerald
    Suitsupply Washington
    Suitsupply Napoli
    Polo Ralph Lauren
    Ehaberdasher Benjamin
    J crew Ludlow

No matter what suit/jacket I try on, I always seem to have gap in the collar. The shoulders and chest on all these jackets fit me very well, but I can't seem to get away from the gap. I have tried on multiple sizes to see if that is the problem, but it has led to no avail.

Any recommendations on what I should be doing next?

    Thanks!

First, do your shirts fit properly? If so, then it sounds like you have something in your build or stance that makes OTR not right for you. Either find a best fit OTR and get extensive tailoring or go MTM or bespoke.

I have collar gap issues (jacket pulling away from collar on shirt) in most of the suit brands you identify. Whether it is due to one of my shoulders being lower than the other or being slightly barrel chested, I don't know. What I do know, though, is that the gap is minimized when I buy suits with a fuller chest, such as Corneliani, and that Despos once told me I would never get a great fit from RTW or MTM due to my fit issues.

FWIW, here is my experience with brands and the resulting collar gap:

    EHaberdasher Benjamin (worst)
    BB Regent fit
Polo Ralph Lauren blue label fit
    BB Fitzgerald fit
    Samuelsohn Gable
    Corneliani Leader USA
    Kent Wang (Best)

    a) Great Gatsby (the movie) blew
    b) not as much a DiCaprio's tailor. Massive collar gap on all (and there were many) of his outfits. Not a problem with anyone else's jackets though.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but DiCaprio's a great actor. If you were analyzing his wardrobe that closely, then it's time to take a little break from Styleforum. Besides, I'm sure that his clothes were well above average by real world standards.

Thanks for all the help. I will try to get some pictures up. My shirts do fit well, so i do not think that is the issue.

The movie is an utter travesty. The commentary on class was superficial at best and the screenwriters failed to create any sort of sympathetic bond between Gatsby and the audience (DiCaprio failed at this as well, but I'm not sure he had much of an opportunity). The movie basically ends with Nick Carraway telling the audience they should feel sorry for Gatsby. Anytime a movie needs the narrator to be telling the audience how they should feel, the movie has failed.

Hey guys. I've been dealing with this issue myself lately. Believe it or not, the suit is bespoke. Only noticed the collar gap issue a few months after wearing the suit. Took suit back to tailor, it's currently being adjusted. But I worry that this issue can't really be fixed once the suit is made... it probably requires a re-do. What do you guys think? Has anyone had collar gap fixed on a pre-made suit?

    thanks
