Cole Haan Made in Italy - Air Giovanni

I know Cole Haan gets knocked a lot (as it should be), but I recently came across the Air Giovanni which seems to be one of their higher end styles. Looks like they might be trying to distinguish their "Made in Italy" styles from the rest. Any thoughts on this shoe? How would it be for formal occasions?

A Nike is still a Nike anyway you look at it. $400 almost puts you in a pair of Trickers. Check out some of the brands that we like here.

And these are definitely something you wouldn't expect from modern CH. I am 100% with you on my distaste for the brand, but was dragged into the store and these caught my eye. Just trying to figure out if they are actually quality or just a step above ****.

I have two made in Italy Cole Haans from 6 years ago. A Brown Captoe Oxford and a Norwegian Split Toe Derby. Neither have the nike air thing, both are leather soled, goodyear welted.

I paid $200 for the captoe and $250 for the split toe. At the time, that was a pretty good deal imo - I still wear them weekly and they still look great.

But right now, you can hit up meermin or andrew lock and get a good deal on a quality shoe.
