Hey SF, I have a bit of a random question for you. This summer, I moved to Ottawa. As a native Canadian, I am a custom to cold weather, but I have been warned the weather here is nothing like what I am used to. I am from the Toronto area, most winter days it doesn't drop much below -10C. I have been told there here, I can expect days in the -30C to -40C range. In the past, I have just worn standard weight denim all winter and not really worried about it, but I am thinking I might need something a little more powerful this year. I have found two interesting deigns, both by N&F. The Wool blend, and the blanket lined models, but neither seem to be available. I am willing to spend decent money on a pair of jeans I will wear all winter, but I am also a university student, so please keep your recommendations on the reasonable side. I am about a 34 waist, most denim I wear a 31-32. I have been rocking a pair of N&F Weird guy left-hand twill's for the last few months. I am loving them, but on cold night's they are starting to feel pretty thin. Thanks guys, TL;DR I need a recommendation on a warmer alternative to standard denim for a cold Canadian winter.
