I'm going to send a pair of R.M Williams Chelsea Boots or my Salvatore Ferragamo plain toe bluchers in for a re-sole. Just trying to debate between Dainite and JR soles. Are JR's more comfortable? Never had a pair but have multiple pairs in Dainite.

I find JRs are stiff but comfortable. I have lazy arches and wear orthotics. So JR provides great support after a day of walking.

How about a compromise. Ask for the house leather, and then ask for rubber sole protector over it. Best of both worlds.

Or try a completely different rubber sole? The Vibram 430 is pretty popular and has thinner profile.

Any opinions on the best cobbler in Vancouver? A pair of my Allen Edmonds (actually several pairs sadly) are too tight around the last toe. I need a good cobbler who can stretch them.

I've heard good things about Galoche and Quick Cobbler.

Thanks!

Quick Cobbler.

Here are my reviews:

Ask that Pat or Ron do the work. And tell them it's based on this SF review.

I will take my AEs there this week. Thank you very much my friend. I will also mention SF.

Out of curiosity, are there any opinions on Galoche?

I have never used Galoche. But follow their Facebook page. They seem to know what they're doing based on the pics.

Last repair by Martin Sugg in Thunder Bay. These are vintage Florsheim Golden Harvest. A rare model that needed a full rebuild. JR soles, toe plates, and cat paw heels.
