Can anyone recommend a decent cobbler in San Francisco, preferably near the financial district? I just need some simple repairs done, but the last cobbler I went to (in Union Square) was terrible. Thanks.

There is one in the bottom floor of the San Francisco Centre, just inside the door from the Powell BART station, that is decent for simple repairs.

Shoe Wiz, mentioned above, also has a shop in the Embarcadero Center. Anthony's, near Union Square, is another option. It's an old-time shop that's been around for decades.

Just wondering if anyone had further cobbler suggestions in San Francisco (not necessarily the Financial District). I also have a simple job -- adding some toe topy -- but for a very nice pair of Mantellassis. I don't want to take them just "anywhere".

Any ideas? I depend on the Styleforum braintrust.

I use Felix at Galletti Bros. on Columbus. He has done great working adding topys and replacing heels on my shoes. Unfortunately, when I was in last week he said he was closing his shop on Columbus to work from his home. He is, however, still offering pickup and dropoff service. I highly recommend him. You can pm me for his contact information.
