PLEASE USE IMAGESHACK OR A SIMILAR SERVICE TO HOST PICTURES. DON'T LINK TO OTHER SITES! Use this thread to post your favorite coat/jacket - specific to brand and style, and include pictures please - if you don't own it or have a camera, find some pictures online. http://men.style.com/ has most relevant runway shows from NY, Milan and Paris, so if it's a well-known designer you can probably find a picture there. I am not sure about the rest of you but I feel like my wardrobe is becoming stagnant with the same "classic" styles. There's gotta be something to spice things up a bit. I'll start it off. My current pick is this leather jacket by Lithium Homme (Japan). The fur (or faux-fur) collar trend is getting to be excessive no doubt, but the shape of the collar on this one is unique, and it's not done very frequently in this vein. The jacket has a lot of gestalt to my eyes, between the architectural, slim cut and the semi-androgony between the moto-style leather jacket (masculine) and the fur lining (feminine). The contrast created between the light color of the leather and the chunky black zippers is what wins me over in the end.

It would look great with some low-profile slim, sleek dress shoes or boots. To match the black details of the zippers, a watch with a black leather strap would be cool. However I think this jacket lends itself more to other colors and would look too costume with black pants. You'd want to either match the belt with the jacket, or the shoes. If you had a belt, the jacket and shoes all in a different color of leather, it would probably look too chaotic.

That is pretty cool, although the color does rather little for me. The design is extremely Final Fantasy, though (in a good way, perhaps surprisingly).

It does look a bit squall-ish doesn't it? Surprisingly, I feel the same way (that it's a good thing).

Hahahaha. I won't disagree, but I will say that once you've developed a style well enough that it becomes uniquely your own and separate from automatic judgments upon what is velvet and what is tweed, wearing androgynous things is more acceptable and questioned less. I consider myself to be in that zone now, and I really like this jacket.

Anyway I wanted this thread to become a resource, so find some **** guys. No more **** talkin, unless you want to post a picture along with it.

Speaking of faux fur, it's a feature I thought i'd never own, but I'm really into the Spiewak Maguire flight jacket. It's super comfortable, the fur collar is really soft and warm (and removable)...and overall the fit is nice and tight. and it's waterproof

The only thing I really wish is that it weren't cut so slim. It fits that model well because he appears to subsist on a luxurious diet of apples and haircare products, but I really would like to see that design fitted to a more athletic build. That (and the color; I'd prefer a darker, earthy brown) is basically what holds it back for me Still, I do like it. Shame more aggressively unconventional designs like that are so impossible (or expensive) to find on this side of the Pacific.

The fur on that jacket looks like it's blending into the model's hair.

At the moment, my "want it need it have to have it" coat is a short navy blue duffle jacket with a blue/green plaid quilted lining. I probably won't find one.

My favorite jackets from this year are the Wings & Horns M65 and the Engineered Garments Monty Duffel (shorter one). Unfortunately, I have neither.

Hahaha fair enough. In fact I don't even like it anymore. Well maybe I do. I see it differently because I see it on myself and with different stuff (no grey turtlenecks). Same way I see a lot of things that people say sounds ridiculous on paper but looks pretty cool in person. The point is that this forum has been overloaded with newbie **** lately and I'm tired of answering the same questions (hi can you recommend some jeans for me this is my body type etc. etc.). Needs some spark to get things going - a long time ago the people that formed this forum were really interested in talking about Helmut Lang, Dior Homme, Margiela, Van Noten, etc. Would love to see some of that happen again.
