I know this is a real niche thread, but I cannot believe this shit. It's so sad. I can't wait for joint features like Soledad O'Brian Presents: The Blackest Player in the History of Every NFL Franchise. Wrapped into a thirty-four page slideshow of course.

Really, Sports Illustrated and Bleacher Report could not be further apart on the journalistic spectrum. It's like 60 Minutes ditching Ed Bradley for Flava Flav.

Are you complaining about the lack of gravitas in sports journalism?

Exactly. I miss Rick Reilly already. And what's that Boston Fan guy who parlayed his blog into a paying gig? I liked him, before the Patriots started winning Super Bowls.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a good many Bleacher Sports articles, but it's not exactly hard-hitting journalism (even for sports). 99% of articles are written by fan-boys, with all the depth and understanding of a rock.

Cnn.com is already 90% a joke. Who would ever go there for news?

Bill Simmons. And yes, he was much more readable before his teams started playing well.
