Why is there no such "casual-workwear" shoe models on the english-language site?
The shoes look great!
How did you choose the product range for this site?

Hey guys, the model above and form this link https://www.cnes.co/collections/goodyear-welted/products/br1?variant=29601847476323

It says width is E, do you know the measurement width and girth of the 43?

And what's the difference between the BQ1 and BR1?
Hi, believed we have already PM you on IG. The BR1 has a straight chisel toe, the BQ1 has a slimmer, angular toe - similar to a soft chisel.

Fitting wise, both are identical in the heels, instep and forefoot. They are built off the same base last.

Majority of our models on our Vietnamese website are MTO only. We have some of these models available in store as MTO options, which can be ordered in store. In the next few weeks, we will getting the MTO section up, so customers can select any models they wish to commission. Meanwhile, we have launched a few GMTO options online.

Hello Everyone!

It's been a long time coming we are finally on Styleforum as a Vendor. A brief introduction about us and what we do:

Established in 1994, we are a Vietnamese Shoemaker specialised in classically welted shoes and accessories. We have stores located in Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Singapore and our latest addition in Melbourne. Our international arm operates out of Singapore.

We make shoes using the various techniques like Goodyear, Mckay (Blake), Bologna and the Hand-sewn welt. Services offered including a comprehensive range of Ready to wear (RTW) shoes as well as Made to Order (MTO). Leathers are sourced from tanneries in France, Italy & Spain (for Calf/Suede) and Argentina (Shell Cordovan). We can also work with exotics (Gator/Croc) upon request.

Our webstore (www.cnes.co) will be up soon so you can readily order shoes online with express courier (Fedex). We look forward to introducing fine Vietnamese craftsmanship to the SF audience and potentially work with like minded partners. For enquiries, please email us at [email protected]

Last year, we made our inaugural international appearance at the Stockholm Super Trunk Show 2019 organised by Shoegazing. You can find the report here:

Stockholm Super Trunk Show 2019 Report
"The biggest impression on the exhibition floor was likely made by CNES Shoemaker, one of Vietnam’s largest manufacturers of Goodyear welted shoes. With an impressive quality level of the finish and construction for very facile prices, they got many visitors to raise their eyebrows and also order a pair. Goodyear welted started at about €200, for SEK €25 more you got a narrow and extremely built-up waist, hand welted was at €420 and Goodyear in cordovan leather only at €480."

Stockholm Super Trunk Show 2019 Report by Misiu Academy
"The booth was probably the most prominent with a huge selection of shoes. Most of them Goodyear Welted however there is a Blake line, handwelted and even cordovan shoes for very competitive prices. Starting from around 210 Euros up to 500 for Shell Cordovan with the desire to penetrate the European market."

Shout out by The Shoe Snob 2020
"For those not in the know, CNES Shoemaker is a Vietnamese based company with shoes produced in Vietnam and distribution there as well as in Singapore. Traditionally they are goodyear welted producers but I recently saw a picture that would indicate a new handwelted range, soon coming. Apparently they have been around since 1994 but only recently have hit they worldwide map and now seem to be doing things very very differently, which inevitably caught my eye."
Hi Do you have a Melbourne outlet?

Measurement Chart

By measuring the length of your feet, it is possible to determine your shoe size. Please take into account if you have a wide forefoot or high instep. You may also consider how generous a fit you prefer - some like it snug and wait for it to break in, some like it loose with some space to wriggle around.

The chart below serves as a guideline for fitting. Please take note we have models of different widths - E, EE & EEE.

E - Standard
EE - Medium
EEE - Wide

I’m a little confused by your widths. In your post here it says E is standard width but on your website it says E is narrow width.

Which is most equivalent to standard American D width?

The E width is our standard width. In Asia due to the feet differences, the E width is considered to be a little narrow for some, hence we have EE & EEE width.

This question may have been asked previously. If so, my apologies; I'm a size US 13D, UK 12 EE in your sizing. Do you not make RTW in the UK 12/46?

I was looking forward to the website, but realized that they seem to be just focusing on the Asian market with the narrow lasted shoes and nothing over a US 10 on the website that’s RTW. Oh well, there are plenty of other shoemakers interested in the US, UK and European customers that I can deal with

Phoenician, I was looking forward as well. Just checked them out on a whim after seeing a review from "The Shoe Snob" yesterday, that looked quite interesting. Like you, my size range was not to be found. However, I found their offerings to be very stylish and forward thinking. Good materials, techniques, etc. I wish CNES all the best, beautiful shoes. Maybe in the future they'll make larger offerings. One can always hope.

Hi guys, thanks for your valuable feedback. As we are clearing some of our old collection, hence our RTW stock up to a size 45/46, approximately US10/UK9. Moving forward, we are definitely increasing our stock sizes.

However, we are able to do Made to Order (MTO) and Group Made to Order (GMTO). As we speak, we are already hosting a GMTO with a Balmoral style oxfords in a hand-sewn welt construction. Will fill everyone here with more details shortly.

@CNES Shoemaker

I noticed you have some spade soles models. I am interested in the Mayer. Can other models be MTO for spade soles?

Mayer, 6M VND

What makes the last two models 3 times more expensive than other shoes?

Rodrigo, 16M VND

Zichenko, $18.5M VND

Hi, some of the models can be done using the spade outsole type. There are an error on the pricing for Mayer. All 3 models shown here are Shell Cordovan and will be price 16 - 18.5M VND. The Mayer is a full Shell Cordovan brogue.

If this is something you want to explore, please reach us [email protected] ! Thank you very much!
