Interested in their Made in USA line ... saw a navy suit in some shots ... anybody seen this in stores or have ideas about the fit or price tag?

No clue about the suit, but I saw the $140CAD tag on their button downs and didn't even bother trying one on.

Was just going through Club Monaco website and noticed under the accessory section, Trickers shoes. Does anyone know any thing about this, sizes, prices, models, etc ? In Hong Kong the CM store doesn't sell any shoes.

I got a chance to check out the new men's section at the Bloor St. location this weekend. They have some absolutely fantastic pieces this season, particularly in the sweater/knits and outerwear dept. I really do think that stylistically speaking, CM is leaps and bounds ahead of most big chains, such as J. Crew, Zara, H&M, etc...

My only problem, and I know that this has been discussed to death in this thread, is the price. It just seems to me that they inhabit this weird price point where I can't justify paying full price (or even 20% off) for anything they offer. It's too expensive to be a source for cheap basics, but the quality is not high enough for me to consider the items 'investment' pieces.

At sale prices, which are usually very good, you can't predict what will be available, so you are often left with nothing but XLs or out-of-style pieces. In fact, I would argue that their sale prices are too good, and often magnify the price:quality perceptions I outlined.

    ...

Also, has anyone else noticed that their recent shirting has a strange smell when new and unwashed? Its almost plasticy...

Checked out the NYC flagship store yesterday. Aaron Levine was there picking up a few pieces from the Made In America collection. Should of said hey.

Anyway. Every time I go in there I become more and more of a fan. Great stuff at semi-reasonable prices. And their sale section always has a wealth of quality goods.

2012 is the year of Club Monaco.

Uh that's bad, what will happen to my sale section ?

On a serious note, Club Monoco is really rocking it, i think they just need better marketing.

Isn't Aaron Levine the creative director for Club Monaco now? Seems odd that he would have to go to an actual store to pick something up... Cool sighting nonetheless!

Yea I don't what he was actually doing but he had a shirt from the line, the light blue oxford i believe, and a bunch of the other associates were doing some high-level stuff around the register.

I totally agree. Club Monaco is one of those rare places where I walk in and actually want everything. But like you said, I can't really justify paying full retail (with the 20% off) for most of their stuff. I didn't mind paying full retail -20% for the peacoat and was very close to wearing it, but ended up returning it for the J.Crew one (it's warmer and fits a bit better). Their sale prices are indeed very good...they usually mark down by around 30% on the first go. If you happen to catch their sale pieces early, you can score some great deals. I stopped by the one at the Eaton Centre today and managed to pick up a couple of nice sweaters that had just been marked down, which I'm quite happy with.

I was at the Bloor location today. I like what they have done to the place. Prices are still nuts, though. I've just realized that any time I post in this thread I end up saying that, but for a brand that is often described by people here as being "pretty decent" the prices seem too steep. $340 for a blazer doesn't seem worth it.

All of their suiting is fully canvassed, if that helps.
