The rules - they work in weird ways. Anyone know for sure?

I can easily imagine Mr. Wooster wearing French Cuffs in the outfit shown below.

And here's another one from the dark side, this time with FCs.

I don´t know the rules , but I love club collars and I also love french cuff, but if Mr. webster the tattooed wears those I suspect might be againts the rules.

I hate 99% of his combos.

When I think of club collars I don't think of prep style as much as WWI/Woodrow Wilson/THE MUSIC MAN style.

Men of this period wore collars with rounded points, but they were high and starched and probably detachable celluloid numbers. The cuffs (perhaps detachable too, and of similar material) probably used links.

I think of club collars nowadays as unplaced on the collar formality spectrum.

Let the fabric and the desired use of the shirt suggest the style of the cuffs. An oxford could have a button cuff (when I had one made, that's what I did), while a fancy broadcloth in solids or stripes could have a double cuff.

I think it should be ok. Its such an obscure collar, that no layperson will know the 'rule' anyway.

The only rule I associate with the club collar is "no Jews allowed." Maybe that's what's kept me from getting any
