Let me start by saying that I've been reading this forum for many months, and I've never been dressing better (or have been complimented so much on my clothing), so thank you..

Okay enough with the butt kissing.....

I wasn't sure where to post this, but if this is in the wrong section please move it.

Me and a couple friends will be making a road trip down the West Coast of the U.S. later this year. Plan on visiting San Francisco, LA, and ending in Vegas. We hope to hit a lot Bars and Clubs (dance, lounges, etc) in all the cities we visit.

I guess I'm asking for advice on what should I be wearing..... I'm a little worried about looking out of place....

Any advice would be greatly appreciated..

If you don't want to look out of place, striped shirt is the way to go. With Relaxed Fit Seven's. Otherwise the WC is chilled out. For most places, cool jeans, a nice belt, and either a fitted untucked button down (western is perenially popular) and a pair of leather boots or cool sneakers is sort of the uniform for the non-stripey people (i.e. the marginally cooler.)

In LA, the bar uniform is a vintage tee (pick one up on Melrose, there are entire stores dedicated to vintage tees), sevens, and a thicker belt with buckle. Wear anything from flip-flops to running shoes.

If you want to get "dressed up" then bust out the striped shirt.

The vintage or graphic tee is so entrenched in my wardrobe that I even forgot to mention it. Whoops. Mike C. is right, though one could be just as ascerbic about the NYC club scene.
