Hi

I'm looking for some decently fitting clothing for a short person.
Mainly hoodies, sweaters, plain/graphic T's, etc..

Im about 5'5 155 lbs so i usually wear a size small, but I find that most clothes are slightly too long, Its still wearable, but I prefer tops to be shorter

Any ideas would be really appreciated

Thanks

Most of the nice brands people appreciate here will work for short people in that they usually fit slimmer and shorter than mall brand clothes. If that isn't enough, Japanese brands in particular are great for short people and often don't work at all for tall guys.

i'm slightly taller than you and probably skinnier, and these work for me:

band of outsiders - XS
RRL - XS
wings + horns - XS or S

**** j. crew; their XS is more like a M

Damn. I'd like to know this, too. I'm 5'9, 42 chest, 32 waist -- hardly an S -- and most medium-sized shirts hang way below the waist, invariably eliciting that *omg that shirt!* response from certain undisclosed twink-ish Canadians.

Lane, it's true. The average height in Japan is still quite short (although rising) and many brands are really all about making a guy of that height look good, which is only natural if you think about it. This is done by short tops, etc. It may not apply to all brands, but it applies to a quite high percentage. Many of the repro denim brands talk about starting from a well-known base like a 1947 cut and then tweaking it to fit the "Japanese build" (not my words).

There's nothing wrong with it, and the stuff that flatters a shorter build in a Japanese guy will flatter a short guy anywhere. Tall guys on the other hand may find that sleeve and body lengths are often too short for their chest size in Japanese brands.

I don't care to argue the point further, but I stand by the assertion that Japanese brands work well for short guys that can afford them.

been there done that - http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=68936 locally - for basic t's go to GAP or Club Monaco. For cheap slim short polos go to H&M. for dress shirts try GAP or Club. are you looking for higher end stuff or everyday basics?
