All,

A quick question:

Do the stuff(cloth/shoes,ect) in factory outlets have the same quality as those in the stores on the street?
I heard someone makes "shabby" stuff, just for outlets store.... not sure if it is true.

From my experiences, BB's 346 series are OK, but RL is not...

Any ideas??

Yes, it is (sad, but) right. There is stuff produced to get selled in outlets.

Brooks and RL do make crummy stuff for the outlets, but there is retail store stuff hidden amongst the crap most of the time. What I like to do is look at pants racks for unfinished hems touching the floor. The outlet crap is always hemmed. Another thing you can do is run your hand along a rack and stop when you feel a nice cloth. The tags always confirm the obvious. Some outlets are entirely crap, but those close, but not too close, to big cities will almost always have good stuff.

I would not be so quick to dismiss outlet stuff as crap.

Yes, there are lots of crap, you just have to choose carefully.

In my experience, Brooks Brothers outlet has nice sweater/outerwear

I've seen 1818 suits at the BB outlets before for $499... of course drowned in the sea of some comfort stretch bullshit.
