Closing Box Pleat on BF OCBD?

Just got some BF oxfords, and really dig the shirts, except they are still pretty full in the back for me. Would I be nuts to close off the box pleat, making it run all the way down the shirt? I almost think it might be a neat vintage look in the vein of the shirt's given style. I've also seen some BoO oxfords with this feature (in addition to darts!) and I wasn't sure if I liked the look or not. I don't want to mess with the side seams, as I like the general shape of the shirt and the armhole is in a good place for me; worth a try, or no?

It's a nice look and a more subtle way than darts to slim down a shirt. Of course I have a thing for closed full box pleats. One of my favourite details on a shirt.

Anyway, if you don't like it, it won't be too much of a trouble to have it undone. So I say go for it.

Yes, this is what I was thinking. It would also be possible to bring in more of the fabric than just the pleated part at various points, right? As long as the pleat was left the same size on the outside, no one could tell...this is tempting.

I'm not sure about that. You should consult with the tailor that will do it. If it's a solid coloured shirt, perhaps, otherwise it will probably make a mess of the pattern matching.
