Sizing guidance

As a general rule, we caution anyone who has not had the chance to try on the Sartoria Formosa cut and size it properly, against ordering anything made to order. That said, if you want to go ahead and are not sure of your size, here is some general guidance & measurements (there will ALWAYS be some variation). In addition, we strongly suggest to engage in a sizing discussion here or in the No Man affiliate thread with other Formosa customers, as you will surely be able to get good feedback from others with a similar build

Pre-Order Pricing

We are offering a special price for pre-orders, through a 15% coupon (works only on these pre-orders) : enter PREORDER15 at checkout.

Note that the prices paid here for pre-orders are 50% of the total price. The balance is due when the garment is ready to ship.

Pre-Order Window

Pre-orders are open for one week only until December 17th. After that, we will send the group order to Sartoria Formosa so that they can start procuring fabric and cutting.

Delivery Window

The garments are expected to be finished and delivered to us throughout the month of March. We will endeavor to provide timing update as the production process advances.

Amazing set of options here. Two quick questions:

1. I believe there was a little bit of discussion about this on the ideas thread, but how would you compare the navy mohair and wool to the navy washed canvas linen? What are the characteristics/qualities that set one fabric apart from the other? Any thoughts on what considerations might make a person (or under what conditions would a person) prefer one to the other? It seems like the fabrics would be very different, but I haven't actually had any experience with washed canvas linens.

2.With suits, is there any problem with pre-ordering unmatched jacket and trouser sizes? (This might be what you meant by, "if you need larger or smaller trousers than standard, this is your chance!"). I know from previous Formosa experience that I don't take the same size in both.

On #2, yes, that's what Greg meant. You can order different jacket and trouser sizes. I'll let Greg follow up on #1 though.

I might need to get a seersucker suit...

@gdl203 Greg, Do you have a comparison shot (swatch sample) of the Caccioppoli 350162 and the one we have for pre-order which is Caccioppoli 350142 for reference? Which one is lighter?

gorgeous fabrics!

The houndstooth and wash navy linen SC's both work best for my style but every selection is a winner

Also, how close in color is the Revenge mini-tooth to the grey fresco?

Why besom/flap pockets for the navy hopsack? That would be a first for your Formosa sport coats, no?

Love the seersucker, but does anyone else think it looks more like a horizontal stripe than a glenplaid

Well...I have always promoted the Draper's green very heavily...but I think I may have fallen for the Merlot linen.

This is tough. I like 4 out of the 5 sport coats and two of the suits. I can get one. Hmmmm. Going to need to do some thinking.

350142 is much lighter and bluer. The weave pattern is smaller and the hand is crisper (mohair). There's a faint hint of luster as well, whereas 162 is very dark navy and totally matte

What happened to ... ?

Fabric is running out and not enough for a full run

Also, how close in color is the Revenge mini-tooth to the grey fresco?

Very close. I guess I have a clear opinion as to what constitute the perfect grey color for spring/summer - not too dark, but not a tacky pearl grey either. The hand and feel are completely different, of course - smooth & light vs. coarse and hard

I don't know - just an idea to make it a little different. If people prefer patches, let's do patches.

Love the seersucker, but does anyone else think it looks more like a horizontal stripe than a glenplaid

Might be a combination of the photography and the seersucker ripple, but it's a very typical glenplaid pattern.

If you look at glenplaids, you'll see that the horizontal stripes are often stronger than the vertical ones. Example here:

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
