I don't think I like this leather for shoes but the accessories pic is more appealing to me. Pretty neat source for the material.

ah, ok.

yes this style is typical for "trachtenschuhe" in the austrian and bavarian tradition of footwear. though these were actually meant to be working shoes made of "juchtenleder".

in the days back, if somebody was able to afford it, he had made a pair of black ones in a more delicate leather.

and fwiw you dont find chiseled shoes in these regions.
