Wow... if those bristles are anything like a toothbrush, it looks like it will definitely agitate your skin.

Nordstrom was selling this (or something very similar) about two years back. Right next to it for about 10 bucks they were selling a manual facial brush.

Based on the salesperson's advice, I opted for the manual brush (looks like a toothbrush but with a big rounded head) and have been using it about 2-3 times a week in tandem with an antiseptic facial wash. Works great, improves circulation in the face, exfoliates and can also be used as a shave brush.

The entire idea may very well be a gimmick, but I am happy with my manual brush, it has definately helped me out with my complexion.
