Dear gentlemen,

I went thrifting today and got a bad ass leather jacket that needs some marginal cleaning on the outside.

How should I go about cleaning it? And what should I do after in regards to conditioning and so forth?

Start by dusting with a wet rag and a subsequent good rubbing with Saphir lotion should suffice.

Thanks Goofy!

I got the Saphir handy, so I should be good to go.

Would you recommend any waterproofing?

Unless it’s suede or nubuck there is no need for waterproofing. However if it is, don’t apply lotion. It will stain suede. In that case you would want to clean the suede with a product like Saphir omni nettoyant cleaner and subsequently waterproofing with a product like Saphir super invulner spray.

Not suede, thanks.
