Hello All:

I have a soft spot in my heart for small, independent mens shops from around America (and the world!). Whether it is Laszlo Vass' shoe manufactory in Budapest, to Haberdashery in Chicago, to Mister Guy in St. Louis, to Wilkes Bashford in San Francisco, I would like to make it a mission of mine to visit each one of these unique places whenever possible.

That being said, we need some criteria. I'm not sure exactly what that criteria is just yet, but I would like to initially limit the stores to small, independent stores with fewer than five locations. Online Stores are ok, too.

And we're off....

St. Louis (My home town)

Mister Guy
Woody's
Kim Kuehner
Morris Fashions

Washington, D.C. (my current town)

William Fox & Co.
Riccardi's (this place sucks and is a complete rip off)

Pittsburgh, P.A.

Larrimore's

Chicago

Haberdashery

San Francisco (there are like a million, but I expect the rest of you to fill the rest in...)

Wilkes Bashford
Unionmade

I forgot about Gary's! I used to go to the one in Del Mar in SD. Great store.

Thanks for your contribution!

What about Cable Car Clothiers in SF?

Cable Car is now under management of the founder's grandson and is making some changes.
Still it's something of a museum

The Hound -

An excellent store with trad roots. They carry Samuelsohn

Carmel CA-

Khaki's . See SF threads.

Also,

Boston: Andover Shop

I think what we can do is this. Every week on Sunday I will comb the thread and add any new additions to the master list. That way, we aren't taking up too much virtual real estate and it will still keep the thread readable. I am excited to see where this goes. Perhaps, one day, many of us can visit these stores and take pictures/compile a small history.
