Hi,

I'm looking for a smart classic leather frame briefcase (50s-70s style) and was wondering if anyone could suggest some brands to review. I have looked on the net already and the ones I'm finding always tend to have a single strap. I don't want any straps, I want the ones that discreetly lock at the top with minimal metal in view.

The best match I could find is: http://www.swaineadeney.co.uk/produc..._dc/index.html
but even this doesn't meet the above criteria and the colour is too light (not to mention the price!!!).

Some of the brands already reviewed are:

- Dunhill
- Swaine Adeney Brigg
- Papworth
- Pickett
- Brooks Brothers
- Daines & Hathaway

Please enrich the above list.

Maybe Church's would have briefcases to go with their classic shoes, but I didn't find much on the net - might be worth visiting the shop...

Thanks

I'm having a bit of trouble envisaging what you are after. Do you mean that you want a briefcase (or attache case) like this one? http://www.brooksbrothers.com/IWCatP...&sectionsize=# Or, are you looking for one in the style of the SAB bag that you linked to, but with some sort of other closure instead of the strap over the top of the bag? If the latter, then I'm afraid that I can't remember ever having seen such a style.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
