Classic and Classy Wallet for New Son in Law....age 31....

Hello from the States,

I have used the search button and gathered a great deal of information but looking for more.

My new son-in-law is quite the polished gentlemen.....

As a welcome to the family looking to acquire a classic and classy leather billfold...

The internet is a wonderful and dangerous thing...

I have searched all over and found many items I appear to like and would fit the bill.

I realize I am asking an opinion but here goes....if $300 US is the budget in a billfold with at least 8 card slots do you have an opinion or preference or suggestion on the following:

• Ettinger
• Launer
• Tusting
• Pickett
• Smythson

When previously shopping for a wallet for myself I'd considered all the brands you listed. I ended up with the Smythson Grosvenor 6 card wallet as it was (one of the) thinnest of the lot and came in an all black colour scheme. By comparison some of the others (e.g. Ettinger) only came in contrast colours which I didn't appreciate.

If you're ordering the Smythson from the online store you can also get it personalised which is nice. Having said that I'd ask for the embossing to be on the inside of the wallet (perhaps drop them an email to ask about this; I had it done in-store).

The Chester Box stuff looks nice but is $300 plus !
