Or anyone else who wants to chip in!

With those for whom 'Trad' is a popular way to dress, 'Trad' is a very popular way to dress indeed.
Any thoughts on why 'Trad' has taken off so well? (Not that it's huge, but it's there & it's doing business.)
Anything in the American zeitgeist at the moment that's helping it?
The Economy?
People's general sense of position in society or America's position in the world?

No right answers. No wrong answers.

Only interested because I am!

Thanks -

(The premise here is that 'Trad' is all the excellent Dopey put it forward as being on the previous 'Trad' thread. A POV which I think sums up 'Trad' very well - That these classic American clothes are strongly linked to class in the 'Trad' manifestation of the look. Ignore 'Ivy League' and Miles Davis's jackets on this one. I'm interested in why 'Trad' as we know it on the MBs has taken off the way it has.)

Sadly I can't edit Mr Dopey's name off the title of this thread or I would. The guy's a sport but has let me know that he's done with this discussion.
He is of course always welcome back.

So it's just thrown open to the floor -

Is there anything you think that may be boosting Trad's popularity as a concept on the MBs?
Anything you like.

I just love it. Every aspect of it, every twist & turn of its story.
The clothes themselves I find aesthetically beautiful and unlike any others in their detailing.
I'm in England & over here the clothes look kinda 'English' but all the styling is different. I really like that.
Good quality, go-anywhere clothes that have their own unique look.
I'm a fan.

Thinking out loud here (as ever)...

last time a take on the classic American look was really popular was the 'Preppy' craze of the early '80's.
Are there links with then & now, or are we seeing the 'Preppy' generation now of age & indulging in a little nostalgia - hence Trad?
