Heck no on both.

I work in a casual office and wear them a couple days a week to give my other 2 pairs of boots a rest (Redwing 2970s and Iron Rangers, both excellent riding boots) but I wouldn't recommend DBs for riding at all.

They're not safe if you go down, you'll burn your ankles unless you really pay attention, if you wear the beeswax versions they scuff easily, your left big toe area will get really worn out from the clutch and the left heel from the kickstand, the soles wear out VERY quickly unless you are very careful about not scuffing them.

In Canada Banana Republic does not carry them. I was checking Club Monaco's website though and they had em on there. I have to go to the store though to see if they have them there.

Yeah sorry, must be in the US. For reference, I was at the BR in Walnut Creek, CA. They had a couple different colors in stock (and they just got in a new color, apparently, according to the sales clerk).

I just bought a pair of beeswax at 25% off at STC. Bill came up to $119 tax in.

Thanks for the heads up.

How much do they sell them for at Club Monaco? I went there but they said they only have it at the downtown location which is too far for me.

I don't ride, but if I did, I definitely would wear something sturdier and with a longer shaft than than DBs. I think of them more as high shoes than real boots.

Okay, I've been browsing this site and it seems that it makes sense to go with your converse chuck taylor size when sizing for Clarks Desert Boots. With that being said anyone know where I can buy a size 6 Clarks Desert Boot for cheap? LOL i know i got small feet =\\

I got a pair of Clarks Bushacre boots from DSW, they're really similar to the desert boots, they just have a rubber sole. You could get them for $70 shipped or $59 in the store if you can find a coupon.
