How did those gel inserts work on the desert boots?

To my surprise my Grey Suede arrived with black soles; it sorta ruins the look. I might return them and get some sand suede.

I ordered the same ones, and I actually like the black sole much more. But then again, it might be because I tend do wear a lot of black.

Any online stores that have the Grey Suede in size 11? I've been looking everywhere and I can only find 10.5 and 12.

If you're looking for the really Grey DB that is the wrong one.

Not great, but it works for me. I have two pairs and the leather ones are holding much better than the suede ones.

Yeah I know, seems like the real one is hard to come by. I might just stick with them or see if the guy who sold my them at the clarks store could locate me the distressed grey with tan sole.

what sort of insoles work good with the desert boots? I'm thinking just the heel inserts because what that shoe is lacking is arch support.

Perhaps The Bay - Clarks can be marked down 25-30%, and there are some days with an additional 10% off. However, most Bays do not carry desert boots, and good luck finding your size!

do you know which bays carry this shoe? would the flagship store in downtown toronto have it?

My Clarks make up the primary bulk of my rotation and so far after several months of wear (includes rain btw) I don't see anything noticeable, everything holds together fine. I actually regret rain-proofing my sand colored ones because they are aging quite nicely.

What size did you get? Maybe I'll just buy them off you if they're 10.5.

This looks more like black than grey. The grey suede shoes I purchased last summer are a lot lighter, and while they come with what might be thought of as "pre-distressed" soles (sort of blackened on the edges), I think it makes them look more rugged.

My chocolate brown suede DBs came with sole edges that were painted brown to match, and I like it. Makes them look a bit dressier, makes them more versatile, so they look great with casual-dress slacks as well as jeans.
