Has anyone tried to resole their DBs?

If so, what kind of sole did you go with and how did it turn out?

i'd also be interested in this

i'm sure they can be resoled, i found this picture a while back of what appears to be clarks DB resoled with a leather sole

I wish there was an option for leather soles, I like how casual suede desert boots look, i just can't get past that crepe sole, i think its ugly.

i dont know anything about it, i saved it ages ago before i even knew what desert boots were, i just thought they looked cool, likely because it looks like they might have messed with the contrast on the picture.

The term for leather-soled desert boots is "chukka boots."

The crepe sole is what makes a chukka boot a desert boot. The crepe keeps your feet cool when you walk in the hot desert.

the burnished sole on those is pretty awesome

they look like the beeswax but the patina has really changed the texture/sheen

Just got a pair for $41 shipped from Banana Republic. Today only there is a 40% off code for people on the e-mail list, which stacks with the 20% off sweepstakes code, and 10% bing cashback, and free shipping code.

    $95 x .6 x .4 x .9 = $41.

Yeah, for the basic colors they have, it's a great deal. I got a similar deal a few months ago on a pair of taupe suedes. The cool thing about br is that they let you stack coupons (I stacked a 40% off with a 25% off with free shipping).

I just got my first pair in the mail today: beeswax!

Was curious...what do you guys wear underneath? I usually wear ankle socks but I'm wondering if I should wear something higher so the inside doesn't rub my ankle raw. Or do ya'll just get used to it with low socks?

They're random. I didn't get one this time. I did a few weeks ago that I posted here. Check ebay. When I bought my pair, I bought the codes for $4 on ebay (worth it to save $50).
