Does anybody know if there is a similar desert boot color to the snuff suede Aldens?

Clarks makes a color named Cola that looks a bit like those in your picture. I believe it's only available in the UK, but you should be able to find plenty of sites that will ship to the U.S.

I have a made in the UK pair and to be honest the quality is not any better than the new ones BUT they have a better/sleeker shape. I actually think the new ones are more sturdy, have more support especally in the heel, and mines are not even lined like they are now.

Check out the Pretty Green X Clarks

Hello, I'm new here so be gentle with me.

I always used to shop at Clarks, but since my last pair of shoes that I bought about 5 years ago became rather worn out, I was quite disheartened to find that Clarks quality in general doesn't seem to be like what it used to be. Their shoes these days seem poorer quality for a higher price.

I understand they no longer make the shoes in the UK anymore, so it just seems like another brand that has shipped production to cheaper factories abroad.

But I really like the look of their Desert Boots...

So, can anyone tell me what the quality of Clarks Desert Boots are like?
Are they strong, and do they last?

Maybe I'm on the wrong forum here, but I still value quality over fashion, and won't be swayed over by something that looks good, but won't last.

That's pretty much the same color. Thanks.

Yeah why not? I don't have a pair of trees dedicated to the shoes but I'll rotate a pair into them every few wearings.

Make sure they are the right size or even a bit smaller.

A large/long shoe tree can stretch a shoe/boot especially if they have a relatively thin upper like a Clark's desert boot.

Looks like something uncontrol would wear.[IMG]

I don't think Uncontrol would ever wear desert boots.

I read that Magnificent Bastard endorses socklessness in warm weather. With that endorsement, I'm willing to try no socks with my DBs this spring.

I don't know about sockless in DBs. I can just imagine that suede getting really stinky. But I have worn mine with athletic ankle socks and shorts.

I might go with ankle or loafer socks then. You're right. The suede/sweat factor...

Any good recommendations on loafer socks?
