The Desert Khans are actually kind of appealing. Hmmm...
I love "...the kind of comfort a man dreams about." Well, maybe not quite the comfort I dream about in my nocturnal wanderings, but okay....
What's 13.95 back then inflation adjusted to today's dollar? hrm...
Approx 89.50 USD.
Hear, hear! I would like new questions about DBs. There must be something we haven't covered.
For example, they say that Steve McQueen and other icons of 60s cool wore them. But I've not seen them on these guys in movies or photos. Any help there?
I'm fairly certain McQueen wore them in The Great Escape.
That's what all the internets informationals say. I'd like proof, though. (btw, I haven't seen the movie.)
Here's another of McQueen, this one from the Great Escape: http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/1...reatescape.jpg Also, if you watch the Thomas Crown affair, he's wearing them during the scene with his plane/air glider.

I need to find some khakis that fit like that.
Cool. Nice pix everyone.
What's interesting to me in the article is this bit of supposed history: "Perhaps that is what caught the eye of Nathan Clark - of the Clarks family - who spotted these "crepe-soled rough suede boots", as he put it, in Burma on the feet of Eighth Army officers, who had picked them up at the bazaar in Cairo."
I had been under the impression the boots were British army issue.
Sup everybody, long time lurker, but I just registered. Can't wait to order my beeswax I just want to make sure of one thing first, sizing.
I usually wear an 8.5-9 in most sneakers. Chucks I wear an 8, they almost fit perfect but still morphed into that "banana shape". So what do you say? Be safe and get a 7.5?
Also, Clae makes decent shoes. I have the whitmans and Romare Hi's. I got the Romare's in a .5 size too big so I don't wear them too often. But judging on the overall taste here, maybe some of you might like this?
I wouldn't mind having a pair of the Desert Khans at all.
