I'm sure you've all seen really dirty desert boots and then obviously very clean ones. Which one do you go with, clean versus dirty? My boy has a pair that are dirty as hell but they still look really good, with his image and all. Lately I've been thinking about going the same route and not cleaning mine any more. Anyone else rocking a really dirty pair?

The pair I wear is pretty dirty, but I think it's all relative. There are some looks that look better with clean ones and some that look better with dirty ones. I don't even really think about it that much though, I just wear my dirty ones because they're the only ones I have.

I'm with him... I will likely wear my bees wax now that fall is coming and it gets a bit chillier which means I will wear thicker socks etc.

i spent the entire summer wearing cargo shorts and...well, summer clothes. didn't wear alot of jeans because it gets HOT down here, but now that fall and winter are approaching (and fast) i get to break out jeans, and imo a broken in pair of beeswax clarks are like the perfect compliment. can't wait!

I'm between Atlanta and central Florida all year so I understand you 100%... I usually never wore jeans in summer unless the sun was down. I wear my flat heads daily since I work a comfy office job now... but damn it gets hot. The bees wax desert boots are so cool (no pun intended)

I like the clothes to look like I actually have worn them a few times.
Not dirty, but a state that when worn, indicates that I had the discriminating sensibility to own splendid clothing in the past, in addition to the present.

One reason I like desert boots is that I don't have to worry about their maintenance too much. They look great new and clean as well as old and dirty.

Dirty, not mud-caked dirty, but not spotless either.

I love the way my sand suede ones look now that I've worn em for half a year... they've been through showers, mud, dirt, whatever.. the color has really darkened up and look really nice. I do clean them once in a while.. but not much more than removing caked mud or using a suede brush.

Broken in looks fine. No need to go drag your feet through cow shit or mud for credibility.
