I want a tassel loafer and have fallen in love with a Ferragmo model http://www.salvatoreferragamo.it/en/.../en/men/shoes&, I also like the C&Jones Cavendish

How is the quality of a Ferragamo vs. a Crockett and Jones??

The CJ will be of better quality. Personally, I would only buy Tramezzas from SF.

How often will you wear these shoes? If you don't plan on wearing them more than once a week or so, I highly doubt quality will be a limiting factor between the Ferragamo (which look to be Lavorazione Originale from the price) and C&J, particularly that model of C&J.

I plan on wearing once, maybe twice a week. How long do you think they can last if I use shoe trees, avoid the rain and have resoled when needed?

If that's the case, I am quite sure you will get sick of them before their useful lives are up.. I have numerous pairs of Ferragamo Studio and LO that I have worn maybe every couple weeks that are going on 6 years old and they don't show significant wear.

Paying full retail ($640) for those Ferragamos would be insane, especially when you can buy the superior quality C&Js for hundreds less at pediwear or plal. Meow, if you aren't an AARP member, skip the tassle loafers.
