you never really quit - you just take a long break.

despite being born and raised in the US, coming out to korea has been a blessing in regards to being able to smoke virutally anywhere i please and without little regard to other patrons or customers within my immediate radius. of course, children are to be avoided like the plague but as for enjoying a cup of coffee, drinking a beer, to even taking a ****, smoking here in korea is a lot less troublesome here.

****, even some of the cab drivers allow you to smoke with a sigh of relief when asked.

the best thing is that cigs are cheap here. you can get 2 packs for less than 5 bucks and never have to smoke your cigs until the filter.

I´m trying to understand what you´re saying. First you do one of the best things for your health, then you inhale the primary (preventable) cause of death? Is there anything remotely coherent in this? Why bother to work out?

it has very little to do with health. for me, smoking = nicotine = increased dopamine = pleasure. working out = increased endorphins = pleasure. so both smoking and working out increases the happy chemicals in my brain.
however, i can see your point. i'm able to smoke a pack in a day and then run six miles while i'm still young and healthy, but when i get older, i'll have to choose one or the other.

i almost got a ticket for smoking in a san francisco park. at the time, i didn't even know it was illegal. from a public health standpoint, banning smoking in open air spaces makes very little sense. i suspect they pass these ordinances primarily to push smokers farther out of the way.

All I have to say is, during a summer job at a Campground/Beach I'd spend HOURS picking up cigarette butts all over the place. It was a HUGE pain **********. The owners didn't like having the butts everywhere as they make the place look dirty and less outdoorsy. We have trash cans, and those tall ash trays all over but smokers still feel the need to toss their butts anywhere they please. Seriously, what the ****? I guess this might be a bigger problem than just smokers...as most people don't care if they throw their gum wrappers, food packaging, etc just anywhere...but cigarette butts just especially stand out as I'd find 10 to 20 butts for every other random piece of trash and litter.

i used to be a half-packer. but, more and more, it just got too inconvenient. 1stly, i started seeing a non-smoker whom i happened to care a lot__ and i thought it was rude to hang smelling like an ashtray, so i would either refrain from smoking when we hook up or tote around my kit [ei, mouthwash+purell+wet wipes+cologne+xtra shirt] to freshen up. 2ndly, govt+society were doing their best to take the joy out of smoking__ so, i quit cold turkey.

i sometimes smoke, socially, tho.

Funny tid bit I learned about my area. They have banned smoking every where except for country clubs and cigar bars. However since there is no legal definetion for a country club the local hookah bar is aloud to stay in buisness since its a "Country Club"

In Virginia, perhaps. Actually, more like $3.50. They were $27.00 a carton before the Obama tax was levied.
