Church's Whipflex?

I recently thrifted a pair of Church's. They appear to be rather old, but in very good condition and worth the $7 in my estimation. Having searched here, I can't seem to find out anything about the "Whipflex" logo on the insole. Also, the inner lining is full leather (no linen) and the last/size markings, etc. are handwritten on the inside, and based on what I've read here so far I'm going to venture that they're pre-prada? Googling "church's whipflex" only brings up expired ebay auctions that appear to be for old advertisements from the 1950s.

I thought I'd throw it out the shurus around here to see if anyone knows the vintage of church's whipflex "technology", or anything else about it for that matter.

Thanks in advance.

PS - I'd post pictures, but the shoes are at the cobblers getting cleaned/polished.

Are they beefroll mocs?

If so, they were made in the 80s, maybe 90s as well. Similar to the Johnston and Murphy Ski moc, perhaps in fact made by J and M. Nice shoes, as I recall.

They're pebblegrain oxfords made in England, if that helps.
