Church's (seldom worn)-cracked leather upper

I've a pair of Church's leather Oxfords (plain cap toe). They have seldom been worn and always kept in the shoe box. Unfortunately, there's noticeable cracks (i.e. spider web) on one of the shoes and a little bit of material is beginning to peel off. But the leather on the other shoe is as new and entirely consistent with the amount of wear.

Before I give up on it, my question is whether this can be repaired? Past experience?

I had something similar with a pair of black Graftons. I got a replacement pair (free of charge). Don't think there is a way to repair the problem.

I emailed Church's but they refused to replace/repair them. Say it wasn't a fault in materials. Needless to say, the last pair of church's I'd buy.

An acceptable solution would be to cover up the crack to make it less noticeable and keep it from deteriorating. Can this be done?
