so i'm thinking of an everyday pair of kicks, since i ride a bike with straps and clips, CPs are just way too expensive to ruin in the cages. anyway, i want a pair of sneakers that could be a bit "dressier" maybe even wear a jacket and collar with them. so which would you suggest for the dressier sneakers: chuck taylors in all black chuck taylors black body, white laces, white toe cap, white sole chuck taylors grey body vans 106 surf below

Vans more so than the Chucks. Here's an alternative: Augusto86 posted several WAYWN pictures a long time ago with him wearing brown/brown Onitsuka Tai Chis that might fit the bill. Ã do remember trying to find that colorway and failing miserably, though, as I normally don't like them. http://www.styleforum.net/showpost.php?p=1112296

thanks for the tai chi recommendation. they look pretty sweet and would definitely dress up better than vans or CTs.

any other suggestions? those brown onitsuka's are all gone and i can't even find a pair in black or grey.

they are just plimsols, does that little bit of laurel stitching make you think they are gonna last or be worth more than 15-20$.

Even if you're really sold on vans or chucks, try on a pair of sambas.
I got my samba classics for about $40 USD at a sporting goods store. Also, they look better with more wear rather than making you look like a bum.

I wouldn't really consider these sneakers "dressy". Sambas for example are indoor soccer shoes lol..... but I'm really digging those Vans though. I think I might actually try to get a pair for myself.

i've only seen them at UO. i think they have a lot of exclusive stuff like the timberland earthkeepers in black, and these vans.

anyway, i didn't mean "dressy" sorry for my lack of precise language. i want to pull of that jeans + button down + sneakers look and i've just never seemed to get the right sneakers for the job, so that's what im looking for.
