Sounds like he went ballistic on the director of photography after the DP ruined an ongoing shoot a second time.

So he's dark and disturbed in real life, not just in the characters he portrays. Nice lol. That's why he's one of my favorite actors. His tirade was a bit long though.

If someone was ******* up my scenes I would be pissed as well. Would you walk into a court room and just stroll by the judge talking on your cell phone? Of course not. Why is it ok to ruin the shots in a movie when you figure each time someone ruins your take you wasted 10 grand. From the sound of things the guy did this several times.

Obviously the guy fucked up. But to go on a public tirade dressing someone down in front of a room full of people is unprofessional, douchey, and accomplishes absolutely nothing. It is an entirely self-centered thing to do.

People **** up at my office all the time. Sometimes the fuckups cost a lot of money. I've never, ever done anything remotely like what's on that audiotape, and nobody else at my office has either. If they did, they'd be fired. Obviously Bale won't be... which is kind of the issue.

This happened in July of 2008. Bale was having a hard week. His family was trying to basically extort money from him, his friend and co-worker Heath Ledger had just died a couple months before, and he was battling depression and insomnia. I'm not saying its an excuse - but I do believe I remember that he apologized.

If this was a random person, we'd just say "wow, what a dick" and leave it be.

Also Slim, I think you're right. He was really fucked up by Ledger's death.

I think people should stop viewing actors through the lens of normalcy because they are under nothing but extraordinary circumstances. What I like about Christian Bale is that not only is he a good actor but, like us, he has his vices and issues. Are you trying to tell me you've never blown up at someone?

+1 on context (what happened before the clip, the money being wasted by the messed up shots, his personal life, etc).

People need to stop caring about celebrities personal lives so much and worry about their own.

To begin the process at SF, I suggest Conne's posting privileges get revoked.

IMO Bale had every right to go nuts. As stated earlier that was probably a waste of $10k. The actors and directors are far more important than some lighting guy. If I screwed up a deal that the CFO was working on after receiving a warning I would expect a verbal lashing at the least.

To say it didn't accomplish anything is untrue. Any takers on how many people screwed up his scene and walked through it for the rest of that movie?
