Hello, In my experience, and I am not sure f I am right on this. I have narrow feet, so I am always looking for narrow lasts, I use a lot of boots, chukkas, chelseas etc.

If I use a nice standard tree like these:
http://www.shoetreemarketplace.com/Men-s-Washburn-Cedar-Shoe-Tree-p/8951.htm
http://www.bexley.com/Bexley/en/p/shoecare_accessories/embauchoirs?coloris=red_cedar

I feel like the shoe tree is working in making the shoe a bit wider, the pressure is working in the width and no to much in the lenght of the last. I suppose a good shoe tree has to put the pressure in general

So, if I get something like this:

http://www.shoetreemarketplace.com/Men-s-Clinton-Cedar-Shoe-Tree-p/7011.htm

I think the pressure would work better in the lenght, maybe the rest of the shoe is not well filled, but at least is tight and that´s enough

My point is, if you dont have the original tree of the shoe, maybe is better to go simple and don´t take risk in deforming the shoe. Am I right or only thinking too much?
