Choosing a tie to go with a new shirt

I purchased a new shirt this weekend and none of my ties seem to look good with it. The shirt is white with a very tight blue and green tattersall pattern. I usually use a yellow or red tie with a blue and white shirt, but the addition of green seems to throw the whole thing off. Any initial suggestions as to tie color, or should I just take a picture of the shirt?
