I searched the forum but failed finding the exact answer.
Which one is the correct terminology and definition for it?

Chisel toe - Chisel-like shaped square toe
or
Chiseled toe - a toe shaped like chiseled regardless it's square or round

I know the latter is the correct definition until now but have a confusion after searching forum.
according to my understanding(chiseled toe), in the photo I attached, shoes no.1 is definitely chiseled and no.2 is less chiseled square toe shoes.

and Is there anyone know what the round toe of french shoes(like corthay 001 last, looks like a falcon's beak) called?

anyway, attatched photos are what I downloaded from this forum last year, but I can't find the post that I got them from...although I remember I found the post by searching 'chiseled toe'

honestly they seem pretty similar in terms of chiselness. I think you understand what the general shape is. I wouldn't try to narrowly define the category as a lot of it is subjective as well.

a chisel toe can be more square to more round. as for the first part of that pic different makers will make the toe taper a different shape. i dont think that part is the definition of a chisel toe.

IMHO Chisel-ed just means it is sharp and not bulbous. It does not have to be square toe.

chisel refers to the shape when viewed from the top, not the side.

it's basically a nice way of saying "squared off toe" The degree to which it is squared off makes all the difference, of course.

I hope we don't have to describe the difference between "square" and "round" to you
