I've seen several references to these boots so I thought I'd post pics of mine.
Used for everyday wear and riding.

Wow, I think they look so much nicer in this pic than the ones on the Chippewa site. Great stuff, now I'm tempted to buy a pair.

BTW, These are in the Bomber Jacket Leather. I like it much better than the Odessa FWIW.

How is the fit for Chippewa? I have been wanting a pair of those really badly, but I am too nervous to pull the trigger without trying them on first. I wear Frye Harness boots already, do you have any idea how the fits of the two boots compare?

There may be exceptions, but in my experience, Chippewa is true to size. Fryes consistently run a half size large.

Treue to size on length but they are wider than Frye's.

Great boots here. I picked up a pair of the exact boots from GVH about a month ago for $78 before shipping. Comfortable as can be and wear great

I think ill probably be the only one, but that is a great style of boot, but any worn in, worked over boot i feel makes people look like a hobo/construction worker more than anything.

Working in leather is cool, but worn out soles make people look really bad.

as well, worn out sneakers look like **** too

What's the point of buying clothes if you're not going to live in them? So long as the shoe is still functional, there's nothing wrong with wear.

i've gotten alot of flack for this about my sneakers, leather jackets, vintage t's, and my jeans but i just love when things get broken in, beat up and used. i think it looks good, aesthetically speaking. i'm a vintage junkie. i scour the salvation armies and resale stores and people throw away so much awesome **** it boogles the mind. and im not just talking about trendy miscalculations that have fallen completely out of taste. cheapmutha knows what im talking about.
heavy boots, jackets, hoodies, denim, sneakers, t shirts etc.. are meant to be worn and used, not babied. and when they get a little life in them is when i think most of these things really start looking good. i guess its largly a matter of taste but some clothing is begging to be lived in.

i know im on a fashion forum so talking about too much consumption is kinda a moot point but i think discarding something because it looks a little used is ridiculous and far too prevalent. why people wear jeans for six months to get the perfect fade and then discard them for a new pair is just beyond me. i love virgin denim as much as anyone (well, almost anyone) but i love jeans that have been lived in more. canvas sneakers too. chucks after they have developed a "dirty patina" are like sex.

obviously once a suit or dress shirt starts looking too beat they are no longer fullfilling their purpose as garments. socks with holes suck and go in the garbage. running shoes that are starting to hurt or skate shoes with no grip are dead too but most boots, leather jackets, even some sneakers (usually simple ones like vans, purcells, chucks) and obviously jeans continue to look good ,sometimes better, long long after the seal has been broken.

dont get me wrong, sometimes its just time to let go (r.i.p. checkerboard slips), and i think most of these items are great new as well (new leather smell, dry denim) and but i think alot of items are given up on far too soon by most. clothing is meant to be used. if you buy quality stuff it will last and hopefully will make you look good in the process. most vintage stuff is still around because it was made to last and more importantly, be used (so we arent naked and cold and hurt).

damn. i can hear the pillows, flcl must be on. time to stop typing. sorry for the rant.

really nice boots.

Cult... as a thrifty man, I depend on those who throw away their "hardly used" pieces.

Without them, where will I ever get almost-new clothing for Ultra Discount?? Us "adopters" depend on "early adopters" to lower costs haha.

More questions regarding boot sizing from a style forum newbie:

How would you guys compare Chippewa to Red wings or sneakers? What does true to size really refer to?
Im a size 11 D/EE in Red Wings, a size 11 in Chucks, 12-12,5 in Nike, Vans and Adidas. What size Chippewa Engineer size should I get? So many questions, so much confusion...

Order a couple sizes from Zappos and send the pair that doesn't fit back. Free shipping and returns so nothing lost.
