iPhone app - but it's reliable.

I have this too. Cool, but I've never really used it much.

Lou - you missed some good stuff when you left, like the part where he vehemently denied that the ramen at Arami was any good (told me there's better Japanese noodles at a Thai place in the 'burbs) or - my favorite - the part where his friends were actually arguing with me about which way is NORTH - when I had a compass in my hand, no less.

Geez, tell him that Arami offshored the making of their ramen to Shenzhen, China.

Where the two ladies arguing with you? [IMG] Where'd you guys go? Butch McGuire's? I should have sucked it up and stayed out.

He even made a [IMG] reference in my Facebook photo gallery of the crawl.

The Intercontinental was "meh"...we had one round and left. The small upstairs bar at the Elysian on the Gold Coast and Rebar at the Trump were much better.

Ironicall, Arami is making the noodles in house; I dont' think any other restaurant in chicago does that.

It was great - and Ron's recommendation of Arami was spot on. I didn't know that this place existed and it's close to where I live.

Cool. Next year, I hope. Make it a Chicago tradition.

I was coming off a telescope run and a 24 hr trip home so all I can do is to look at the pictures and dream of drinks that were waiting to be had.

What's a "telescope run", JT? We hope to make this crawl an annual event.

We go to a remote, desolate mountain top, sit in rooms with cement walls and fluorescent lights, and watch computer screens all night. Above us a telescope points at the night sky and collects images. It's a blast, and it can be exhausting when things go wrong. Things always go wrong.

A "run" is the entire time we're running the telescope, or at least at the telescope. I can tell you about it over drinks sometime... with any luck next Christmas time.

Cerro Tololo, east of La Serena in the Chilean Andes. There is a couple of winerys in that valley, but I've never had the time to explore. Sunrise, sunset from the mountain top- yeah. I saw a great green flash this trip.

    And next time, I'm in.
