Cheviot tweed

Hi Guys,

I'm curious to hear anyone's thoughts on the pluses and minuses of Cheviot tweed vs. other types of tweed such as Shetland and Donegal. I haven't had anything made up in it yet, but am considering a W. Bill 15oz Gun Club.

Perhaps most importantly, how durable is it and how hot does it wear? Any information is appreciated. Thanks!

Don't think so unfortunately. They're as old school as they come!

Tough, springy, densely woven, drapes very well. Very different from Harris or Shetland.

Very durable and wears hot. Great for Scottish and English weather.

Not a direct answer, but after looking up Cheviots I found the Bookster list of cloths. Some interesting fabrics there.
