Handsome and well made. I like glen plaid too. You stole it.

Yeah, I'm stoked. I didn't have any glen plaid suits, and I really wanted one, so to find a Chester Barrie at the last second on eBay was great...but I had no time to look into the exact details of its manufacture. I was just curious as to the quality of these "made in England for Barney's" CBs, and how they compare to the rest of the CB offerings.

I think it is safe to say that you kicked butt, took names and got yourself a very nice item on the cheap.

Thanks. I'm especially stoked because I found a new thrift/church store in the city today, but after sifting through everything, much to my chagrin, I had found a number of jewels (a few Oxxford, H-F, and Southwick sport coats and suits, a beautiful Burberry DB tan camel hair blazer, etc.) but none in my size. Good to make a score like this at home, glass of wine in hand, at the end of a fruitless thrift-shopping day. I really must start buying up all the nice stuff in this town that is NOT my size and sell it on eBay... Wish I wasn't so lazy.

BTW, Carlo, I must agree with everyone else that those new formal ties (yes, especially the paisley.) are truly mouth-watering. Perhaps one day I can afford them.

Cheers,
John

You nailed this one. I would have bid on this auction had the measurements been for "L" rather than "R"

Nice going. Chester Barrie auctions often fly a bit below the radar.

Any advice on having my tailor add double vents? Is it fairly easy to do on a non-vented coat like this?

From what I have read on this board, it is only possible to close vents, not add them.
