I use a krups blade grinder. It works OK for a fine/medium grind but if I want a coarse grind the consistency is kinda chunky.

If you can upgrade to a burr grinder, it's a night and day difference. I'm loving my Chemex with a burr grinder.

I use a chemex and a french press about equally. Both make great cups with very different attributes. I love to brew a cup with a Chemex and a cup with a French Press and comparing side by side. It's like getting two different coffees.
