Yes, Grenson is definitively one of the best shoe maker on the market but the prices are way too far from my budget.
Have anyone of you heard of Bobbies ? They do great Chelsea boots
And when I said, 200 max I meant euros not pounds

This is interesting , thanks a lot, are Scaroso and Story et Fall good quality products? I tried Loake Mitchum and I was a bit dissapointed with the quality.

No problem

I really can't speak much to the quality. I'm getting 2 pairs of story et fall that should arrive in a week or so. I'll write a review of them, then.

In general, I think these mid-tier boots probably have mid-tier quality. I wouldn't except SLP quality from these $250 boots, but I also wouldn't put it past them.

Thanks a lot, I´ll be waiting for the review. I am Ok with mid-tier quality, since that is what you pay for. But sometimes you find that quality is not even in the mid-tier range and not on par with the price, Loake for example. You are not paying 550 for a pair of Aldens, but 250 is still a respectable amount to pay for shoes. My question was basically if these two brand would have a decent amount of quality for the price.

I have Scarosso Jodhpur boots, and I absolutely love them. Fantastic quality, really comfortable, very stylish. My next purchase from them will probably be their black Chelsea boots.

So I wholeheartedly recommend them if you're interested, but then again, I've only bought one pair so far. If you can, wait till a sale and pick up a pair. I missed my size in the last sale, so I guess I'll have to wait till closer to Christmastime. I got my Jodhpurs for about 160 Euros.

Hello all! I am planning to invest in a good pair of chelseas. I have narrowed it down to a pair of Grensons Declan in brown suede and Cheaneys in brown/burgundy grain leather (don't remember the model name). According to the websites, both are made in the UK, most probably Northampton, and both are goodyear welted. Everything is quite what I am looking for but as I don't have any experience with either of these brands before, I would really appreciate if some of you respected members could shed some light on which one is better than the other. My price range is $300-$450 and both of these pairs fall in the range. Any suggestions, keeping the price point in mind, are also welcome. Thanks.
