If you have to ask this question...

than the answer is yes.

Dinner Jackets should not be weird in any way.

It's not the jacket that bothers me, it's the pants that I am unsure about.

The pants are okay -- the satin stripe is a detail with some pedigree.

I'm going to side with js4 however, and say that it might feel dated pretty quickly. Don't throw it away, though.

I don't own it yet; thinking of buying it or the Polo tux (link above)

Yeah, don't get the Ralph Lauren one -- it doesn't look at all like a tux.

I don't know if my post helps, but it looks kind of expensive.......

What brand is it? Can you finally reveal?

That Polo tuxedo is the perfect example of what I meant when I said other more popular makers produce tuxedos with less than classic details. In fact, it lacks in so many details I would be hard pressed to consider it a Tuxedo at all. Only the satin stripe on the trousers seems to have any classic styling. Even the lapels seem to be the same material as the jacket.

In contrast, the only thing really particular about the first tuxedo is that it has a double stripe on the trouser leg. Not necessarily "traditional" per se, but hardly noticeable and a very small sacrifice at worst.

The Polo shouldn't be an option, in my opinion. Go for the first tux posted.

I still cannot make up my mind as to to whether it is a nice quirky detail or a deal breaker.

It would not be a deal breaker for me. It's an odd occurrence that would make it more unique, in my opinion.
