Alright, I know I'll probably be buried for this one. I *love* the Viberg Service Boot that 3sixteen commissioned for their 10 year anniversary: http://www.3sixteen.com/collections...berg-for-3sixteen-andrew-special-service-boot

However, they're $700 and I just can't justify it. Can anyone recommend a similar styled boot? Something that looks rugged and distressed, but is sleek enough to be dressed up and down. I'm not really looking for a work boot like Wolverine 1000 Mile boot and I'm not a big fan of the Alden Indys.

Is there a price range you are looking at or other requirements? I.e. it looks like the 3sixteens are welted rather than glued like many rubber soles. Do you want rubber or leather soles? etc. You will get better suggestions with a bit more guidance.

Good point! I would say the upper end of my price range is $300-400.

Sorry, I'm not incredibly well versed in the details of boot construction, so I'm not sure what the difference is between welted and glued soles. Also, I don't really have a preference on the sole material, although I do like the lower profile sole on the 3sixteen Vibrams as opposed to some of the thicker soled versions. These boots would be a "daily driver" for me, though, if that makes a difference.

check out the Oak Street Bookmakers Trench Boot. it fits in between a dress boot and rugged boot i'd say. definitely looks it's best with a bit of wear.

    Addition options.

Since your comment said your not really looking for a work boot, but the 3sixteens are work boots, I tried to provide cheaper options of workbooks that were able to be dressed up more.

I would recommend these in dark brown, but you get the idea.

Great quality shoe that will last. Maybe not sleek enough though...

    A cheaper option

Very cool, I like those a lot! Thanks. They're still a little steeper than I was hoping for, but I like them.

I just got these from Amazon with the 30% off code:

    http://www.amazon.com/Florsheim-Indie-Cap-Boot-Black/dp/B00BSQSHZ0/

They came today and I am impressed for $125. I was worried that the stitching was the "fake" kind you see on cheaper shoes. They are welted soles with real stitching though. It isn't a Goodyear welt like my Red Wings or Allen Edmonds shoes, but definitely a step up from "cheap" boots. The leather seems like decent full-grain, not corrected. They even came with individual fabric shoe bags. I went with my Red Wing size and they fit great.

How is the fit on this model? Does it run large, like many of the Veblen and other Florsheim Limited models, or do you thin it's TTS?

I got them in the same size that I wear in Red Wing and Allen Edmonds, so about 1/2 down from sneakers.
