Cheap housing/roommates in DC area?

Well the time is almost here, I'm looking to move out when I'm 18 for a variety of reasons. I'm near Annapolis seeking someone in the DC area who is looking for a roommate (I'll probably be attending college near Annapolis). Any suggestions or anyone know where to start looking?

All help appreciated.

Check Piney Orchard. It's located in Odenton between Crofton and Severn. They have decent apartments that are affordable. It's also the midpoint between Annapolis, Baltimore, and DC. You'll probably need a roommate, but it's certainly better than living in Glen Burnie.

If you have some more money to pay rent, you might want to look in Silver Spring.

EDIT: Actually, you're probably looking to be closer to the city. In that case, ignore my advice, although keep in mind DC can be rather expensive.

Odenton sucks. You want something more metropolitan. Silver Spring is probably your best bet. Talk to me as it gets closer because I may be looking to do something similar.

For me, if I'm taking classes at AACC which I probably will, I would consider about as far east as PG County. I pretty much just want to get out of the house. While some people may think that bailing out as soon as I turn 18 isn't the best idea I'm looking into it, but I'll keep you updated on what I decide.

What are prices like in the Columbia/Howard County area?

Insanely high, but our Community College is really good. What you can do is live in affordable Catonsville (near BMore) and commute to HCC. Its only about 15 minutes. This is what I had been doing for some time.
