I have 2 pairs of Harpole, Dark Leaf and Dark Grey, love em both. What did you want to know about them?

If I may take this in a somewhat different direction, I am saving-up for a pair of Cheaney Howard R loafers. They're a totally new style for my meager collection, and I think they would fit my living situation very well. However, as alluded to above, money is very much an object. Do any of you know if Cheaney has "regular" sale dates, say summer and after Christmas? I saw a post saying they had a good sale last Christmas. Thanks in advance.

For anyone in the UK and local-ish to Northampton, the guys in the Factory shop told me they have a sale starting later this month (can't remember the exact date they said it starts but it's around the 20th). Seems they have a lot of end of line stock available that they need to shift.

I'd dropped in to see if they had any suede boots in my size and picked up a pair of Jesmond boots.

Hmm. I'll keep my eyes peeled for mentions of the sale. Is the factory store email listed somewhere? Seems like I have seen it. I'll look for it.
    Thanks for the heads-up.

How does Cheaney stack up to AE and Carmina? Assuming sales for all 3 companies are available.

For $300 (Cheaney), it's roughly $60 more expensive than AE ($240) and $150 cheaper than Carmina ($450). Thoughts?

    I think the consensus is:

    Carmina > Cheaney > AE

That said, they have very different styles. Cheaney and AE are on the traditional side, whereas Carmina is a bit more modern.

Cheaney it's 10 step above AE, and in my opinion on par with Carmina.

Some recent models, quality and finish are great for the price.

Never understand the comparision between AE and english/european brands...
Every AE pattern/style it's soooo bad designed...

Take for example a Mora Double monks and put them next the Loake, Cheaney , etc counterpart....totally different challenge....

I've a question for shoe connoisseurs: does Cheaney use leatherboard or plastic toe and heel stiffeners in their latest models?
